Welcome to the official Ste. Genevieve County Chess Club!
Chess around the world has seen a MASSIVE boom in popularity since 2020. Ever since Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit was released in 2020, along with the extra free time in the early days of the pandemic, adults, teens, and kids alike became fanatics over the game. The most popular chess website in the world, Chess.com, reported hitting 12 million active users per day in April, as opposed to 2 million prior to the pandemic. It’s safe to say the demand is through the roof for chess, so we founded the official Sainte Genevieve County Chess Club.
The Ste. Genevieve County Chess Club is a friendly community of people who gather together to play chess, share some delicious pastries, and enjoy a cup of hot tea. We welcome players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, to come and join us for a good time. Our meetings are on the last Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm at SGCLIB. Whether you are looking to improve your chess skills, socialize with other chess players, or simply enjoy a fun and relaxing afternoon, the Ste. Genevieve County Chess Club is the perfect place for you. So why not come and join us for an afternoon of chess and camaraderie? We look forward to seeing you soon!
