What do I need to utilize these new resources?
First and foremost, a library card! Beyond that, Playaway Audiobooks require either corded headphones or an AV cord. Both the Wonderbook and the Launchpad have audio jacks on the device, but utilizing both of them does not require headphones. None of these items require high-speed internet for use.
How many Playaway Audiobooks can I check out?
There is no limit to how many Playaway Audiobooks you can check out at any one time.
What are the checkout duration and renewals for this item?
Two weeks with no renewals

What happens if I discover an issue with an item?
We understand that wear and tear happens. However, our staff has been trained to check these items for usability before being checked out and when it’s returned. If you have discovered that an item is not playing correctly upon your arrival home, please alert library staff right away to the issue and return it as soon as possible. We will assess it and determine if it’s basic wear and tear or if damage has occurred. We do our best not to charge patrons for basic wear and tear on items however, we do ask that items damaged while in your possession be replaced at the cardholder’s expense.
How do I charge these items?
SGCLIB staff does our best to ensure our materials are charged and ready to go for our patrons. However, if you find an issue with any of the items, you can do the following.
Playaway Audiobooks require a AAA battery, come by the library and alert the staff and we will give you a replacement.
Is there a cost to check these items out?
Currently, there is not. However, we do ask that these items be returned promptly in order to ensure the demand for these items will be met.
I only own wireless headphones will that work?
Sadly these items are not Bluetooth enabled. However, to ensure our patrons can start using these products right out the door, we sell headphones and AV cords to our patrons for a nominal fee.

How do I return these items?
We ask that all Playaway items be returned directly to our front desk. This is to ensure that our staff can assess the condition of the items, ensure all pieces are included and that it is in good working order upon their return.
