Wonderbooks are print books with a ready-to-play audio book inside. Kids simply press play and read along with their favorite books, then after they are finished, switch to learning mode for literacy learning and fun!

What do I need to utilize these new resources?

First and foremost, a library card! Beyond that, the Wonderbook has audio jacks on the device, but utilizing it does not require headphones. These items require high-speed internet for use.

How many of each item can I check out?

Because of the limited availability of these items, we do ask that you limit the amount to 2 per household.

What are the checkout duration and renewals for these items?

Wonderbook-2 weeks no renewals

What happens if I discover an issue with an item?

We understand that wear and tear happens. However, our staff has been trained to check these items for usability before being checked out and when it’s returned. If you have discovered that an item is not playing correctly upon your arrival home, please alert library staff right away to the issue and return it as soon as possible. We will assess it and determine if it’s basic wear and tear or if damage has occurred.  We do our best not to charge patrons for basic wear and tear on items however, we do ask that items damaged while in your possession be replaced at the cardholder’s expense.

How do I charge these items?

SGCLIB staff does our best to ensure our materials are charged and ready to go for our patrons. However, if you find an issue with any of the items, you can do the following.

Wonderbooks-Requires a Micro USB cord. If a flashing red light is on, it indicates less than 1 hour of playtime remains. When you return the book, alert the staff, and we will charge it for the next patron.

Is there a cost to check these items out?

At the present time, there is not. However, we do ask that these items be returned promptly in order to ensure the demand for these items will be met.

I only own wireless headphones, will that work?

Sadly this item is not Bluetooth enabled. However, to ensure our patrons can start using the product right out the door, we sell Headphones and AV cords to our patrons for a nominal fee.
