Families are invited to join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at Sainte Genevieve County Library. The 1,000 Books program is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills.
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is available to all families with children between the ages of birth and 5 years. To register, please visit http://sgclibreads.readsquared.com after registration is complete come by the library to pick up your free welcome bag full of resources and age appropriate book lists.
Book logging will be done directly on the Read Squared app, however a physical log can be requested and are only for patrons without access to the app.
