Ste. Genevieve County Resident

As a Ste. Genevieve County resident, you can get your free library card with ease! You must have either a valid photo ID or a piece of certified mail with your current address to confirm your county residence. If you are not a Ste. Genevieve County resident, don’t worry! We also provide non-resident cards for ten dollars, and the card is good for a year.

Ste. Genevieve County Library is funded through County property tax dollars.  

Full Service in County Card

Borrow materials and special collections, and use the Library’s digital resources. Available for anyone living in the county limits of Ste. Genevieve. Cards expire three years from the date issued.

  • Ste. Genevieve resident who is 18+, or under 18 with a parent/guardian’s signature.
  • Visit Ste. Genevieve County Library location to apply for a card. Bring a valid photo ID. (If you do not have a photo ID or it does not include your current address, you may use a current utility or phone bill, vehicle registration, voter registration card, apartment lease, or official government document.
  • Children 5-17 can get their own card with the registration of their parent or guardian living in Ste. Genevieve County at the parent’s request. The child must be present and able to write their first name (with accommodation if handicapped/disabled) Cards expire three years from the dates issued. (See the statement below for more information regarding children’s cards.)
  • The parent or guardian must have a card on file to ensure proper registration in case of a lost item, we will need a guardian account connected to the minor.

A Note for Parent/Legal Guardian of Patrons under 18 as required by 15-CSR 30-200.015 Missouri State Regulations.

As a parent/legal guardian of your child, signing an Application for a library card from Ste. Genevieve County Library, you grant access to the full collections of the Ste. Genevieve County Library, the Missouri Evergreen Consortium, and any electronic books and resources that may be accessed using the patron’s SGCLIB Library card. (This includes but is not limited to Hoopla, Libby & Ebsco Host, among others) Library staff do not supervise minors. Library staff do not know what you consider appropriate for your child and cannot be responsible for their selections. If you do not agree to full access to the collections, your child will not be issued a card. Parents/guardians may then check out items for their children on their own cards. 

 

Non-Residents

All patrons who wish to access Library services from outside our county may. However, these patrons must purchase their cards for $10.00, and unlike resident cards, these cards are only good for one year.
