It is the mission and function of the Ste. Genevieve County Library to provide learning resources and services that, through a variety of programming and technology, will build a fundamental stepping stone for community edification. With a wide diversity of tools for education, business and general information, the library is an integral part of the Ste. Genevieve Community. Along with an assortment of books and other media, the library strives to maintain a balanced reservoir of knowledge and entertainment. Located in the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center, only a few miles from the heart of historic downtown Ste. Genevieve, the library remains as a stolid reminder of bygone eras with its extensive genealogical records. It also offers a solid promise for the future, with an intent of teaching the young generation the importance of gaining knowledge and the joy of reading. With a collection of over 22,000 books and other items – as well as access to a large cache of eBooks – the Ste. Genevieve County Library continues to grow and expand. Bringing internet access, along with printing services and free Wifi (and a desire to add to these services in the future), the library is an important asset to the community. The implementation of the Friends of the Library brings and will continue to bring new programs to the community, serving children as well as adults. This group of dedicated volunteers will have an impact on education and knowledge fulfilment. The Ste. Genevieve County Library serves a population of over 18,000 county residents, whose membership to the library is free. A non-resident card is also available (inquire at the library for more information). We hope to continue serving Ste. Genevieve County as its local library – come and see us soon! |
