Appointed by the County Commissioners, the Board of Trustees determines the Library’s operation policies, selects the Library Director, creates the Library’s annual funding request, budgets funds appropriated by the County, authorizes all major expenditures, carries out duties assigned by state and local ordinances, seeks funding for the Library’s needs and services and most importantly promotes the Library in the community. The Board of Trustees serves as the guiding light for the library. All board members serve on four-year terms and are chosen by the commissioner. If you’d like to enter your name for consideration, a form can be found below. The Board meets on the second Monday of the month at noon in the SGCLIB meeting room and is open to the public.
